Hi, my name is Levente and drawing is an important hobby for me. I grew up in Hungary and now I live in Vienna, Austria.
Apart from being influenced by some widely-known visual artists and illustrators (Joan Miró, Wassily Kandinsky, Tove Jansson, Edward Gorey to name a few) there were also many Hungarian illustrators (Karoly Reich, Tamas Szecsko, Lajos Kondor etc) whose works had an influence on me as a child. Growing up in the 90s, I watched a lot of cartoons, which I would also consider a visual influence. (Animaton from the 70s - 90s; mostly of Hungarian and Japanese origin.)
I am mostly inspired by myths, legends and tales, and I aim to create a mysterious and whimsical visual world.
If you think that the style of my drawings would suit a story or novel that you are writing, music that you are making, or anything else that you do, and you are in need of an illustrator, you can contact me via my e-mail address on this site. (In English, German or Hungarian.)
I use a reduced colour palette consisting of black, white, red, blue, green-gray and (rarely) a bit of brown, because I find that it emphasises and completes the simple shapes, lines and patterns that I work with. I use watercolours and fineliners, and I usually draw on A5 200g watercolour paper.
